Bert is a conscientious and diligent editor with a keen aptitude for genre filmmaking.
A graduate of the National Film and Television School, his films have won multiple awards and have been screened at prestigious festivals around the world.
His flexible approach has enabled him to foster productive collaborations across all departments on films of a variety of genres and styles.

My Story
Bert was born and raised in Exeter and learned to love film from the earliest age, growing up watching classic horror films from the likes of Universal, Hammer and American International.
An avid student of languages, it was while studying films such as La Haine and Das Leben der Anderen in college that Bert became inspired to pursue a career in film.
He graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Film Studies and German, which included a year at the Universität Bremen. During this time he worked in the production crew for two student films, in a multitude of roles.
After graduating, he began exploring the possibilities of video editing, and began teaching himself. Over the next two years, he regularly uploaded short videos to his YouTube channel, which proved popular among fans of a broad spectrum of films, characters and directors.
In order to fully realise his passion for story-telling through editing, the next step was to apply to the National Film and Television School. The MA Editing course enabled him to work on a wide variety of fiction and documentary films, ranging from horror and sci-fi to natural history and political activism. Many of his films from the NFTS have won awards and been screened at renowned festivals, including Camerimage, FrightFest and the British Short Film Awards.
Now working as a freelance editor and assistant editor, Bert is eager to keep developing his technical and artistic skills, in order to continue telling important and exciting stories.
